+ Are children allowed?

No children after 7:30 pm. Ultimately, this is a bar (21+). We have a small narrow space. For everyone's enjoyment and safety, well-bahaved, seated children are allowed up UNTIL 7:30 PM.

Note: If you are just shopping to go, children can accompany you anytime.

+ Are dogs allowed?

Unfortunately, no. We love dogs but since we serve food, non-service animals inside is a violation of NYC health codes. Well behaved dogs are allowed OUTSIDE only.

+ Can I get samples of beer before buying?

No, we do not offer free samples but we do sell small pours of all of our beers. This is the purpose of our bar, so that you can truly experience new styles and flavors. Scientifically, the palate is unable to identify the flavors of beer in one sip. (This is especially true for IPAs). In the same way it takes a while to acclimate when switching between beer styles, it takes at least three full sips to coat your tongue and detect new flavors. Please refrain from drinking coffee or smoking at least 30 minutes prior to drinking any beer. Lip balm and lipstick should also be removed before tasting. We also have unscented soap in our bathroom to ensure that no other aromas interfere with your tastings.

+ What type of draft beer do you pour?

Our focus is on offering specialty draft beers in an approachable, elevated environment. We're not your typical beer bar that just has all local IPAs on draft. We welcome beer nerds and novices who are excited to try different and unique beer styles. We favor quality drinking over volume drinking.

Note: While we have a myriad of bottles and cans to go, you are welcome to drink a packaged item at the bar. Please note that each item contains a To Go price and a To Stay price.

+ Do you sell food?

We have snacks from Port City Pretzels and The Billy Goat Chip Company. Additionally, we've got King Kolache, Czech-Tex sweet yeast dough sandwiches (similar to a small hamburger bun) filled with savory ingredients. You are also welcome to bring in outside food.

+ Do you sell Gift Cards?

Yes, we sell digital gift cards! All you need is the recipient's name and email address. Once you purchase online, the recipient receives an email with a QRC code that they'll use to pay on-site (Similar to paying with Apple Pay or Google Pay). Want a physical gift card? No problem. We've got those too. Stop by to purchase.

Alternatively, to purchase a gift bag (or beer for yourself), click our SHOP link. We'll help you curate a package by beer style and keep it cold until you, or a gift recipient can pick it up.

+ Do you sell cider?

Yes, we have an entire fridge (and draft line) dedicated to cider.

+ What's your Growler policy?

We do not sell or fill growlers. This is a conscious choice as growlers are bad for beer. Since we are advocates for breweries (and homebrewers ourselves), we want to ensure that the beer tastes as the brewer intended. Most growlers are not washed, sanitized, or stored properly, leading to tiny microbes that alter the flavor of the beer. Additionally, filling growlers adds oxygen to the beer, reduces the carbonation, and shortens the drink-by date to a few hours.

+ But I have my own growler that has never been used?

Nope, sorry. Please let us know if we can help you pick some bottles or cans to-go. We pride ourselves on being beer enthusiasts and this is one of our policies to preserve the quality of beer.

+ Can I use my laptop at the bar?

Sure, we understand it's a new world and we love our customers at Beer Witch. We are a small business and expect you to buy at least one or two drinks per hour. Please refrain from taking conference calls, using speakerphone, or using volume on your laptop; we're not a substitute for an office. We're also not liable for anything spilling on your devices.

+ Can we use your space for an event?

Yes, we can accomodate 25- 30 people comfortably. Please use our Contact Form for inquiries about private events.

+ Where did you get that amazing authentic looking broom?

It was a treasured gift from family upon opening Beer Witch. The broom is handcrafted by two sisters who live on Granville Island in British Columbia. Check out their story and artisanship here.
